challenges-tendencies-toward-solutionism
in defining what an autoethnographic approach to design contributes, a clear point is made that using this as a method challenges a ‘tendency towards solutionism’ (p18). This puts into words an underlying motivation why I am drawn to speculative-design and autoethnography as methods to explore AI implementations in education/learning. It goes directly against the ways in which the commercial AI companies are rapidly expanding, against this scaling dogma of silicon valley.
