supervision-290426
currently:
(what I am thinking about/working on now).
-
moodle lit review - progress
- I have reached out to staff for permission and got the relevant access, but have not started yet
-
next paper outline and workshop I’m submitting to:
-
student-llm-use - I have a (loose idea for a) plan for setting up a focus group for current students about to embark on their research project.
-
designing and building my ‘research-infrastructure’
discussion points:
(items to discuss in the meeting, links connect to work-in-progress if you want to look further).
-
project-supervisor-bot - live demo, and general development discussion.
-
paper feedback that I received from submission - xcoax-feedback-26, and the development since then:
- sketching out of chapters for thesis and an attempt at re-framing phd-proposal-thoughts-and-reframing
- how the project-phd-live-platform and the project-supervisor-bot connect – developing a knowledge infrastructure.
- In developing the supervisor-bot further, I had to consider how this will scale in the more long term, which required me to start sketching out a bigger map, found here: learning-dashboard & research-infrastructure
Q’s for supervisors :
there’s an ethical question perhaps around including people in my notes if they are public - how should I address this? anonymisation across the board when talking about people, is that fine?
notes / for next meeting:
- we talked about confirmation and when it might be
- think about who might be good to be in the confirmation
10,000 words (max) for confirmation + 15 minute presentation
lit review – overview (will not be inclusive pf everything)
look at handbook about confirmation to see what is required
write about my positioning in this (being more clear)
how does the performative aspect of doing phd feed into the research q’s (at the moment it’s implicit but not explicit)
–> part of the methodology
-> look at other PhD theses!!
Hayley Newman PhD – look at
Rebecca Court - Fine Art PhD
both mentioned by my supervisors as being potentially inspiring
is there a way to translate the website into the actual thesis document?
student-llm-use as pilot study before conformation, also maybe speak to peers (phd students as a practice)
first-test-with-supervisor-bot-in-meeting
is the supervisor bot a bit like an echo chamber as it is trained on my data?
The revisions below show how this note has changed over time.
